Dear Families and Educators:
It is my pleasure to inform you that Eisenhower Elementary School in Indiana Area School District has been recognized as an Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing Schools National Blue Ribbon School for 2019 by U. S. Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program award recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students either achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap. Since 1982, the U.S. Department of Education has sought out and celebrated great American schools. The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content.
This award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our incredible faculty, staff, and students. From the bottom of my heart, I would also like to thank the families for being an integral part of our recipe for success. You are all truly amazing. At Indiana Area School District, we are constantly striving to ensure that the academic program we deliver meets the needs of our students while encouraging them to do their best. We have an incredible team of educators serving this community.
As I reflect on this accomplishment, I realize that all of our schools have the potential to become a Blue Ribbon School. We are implementing a variety of programming changes that are aligned to best practices that are evidence-based as well as, more importantly, aligned to the needs of our students. I am confident that these changes will have a positively profound impact on our schools and our community. We have a dedicated staff that truly puts children first in all they do as well as a wonderful and supportive community that wants the best for their children coupled with a Board of Directors that strongly support its schools and students.
Congratulations to all involved and thank you for your commitment to excellence in education for all children.
All the best,
Mr. Michael J. Vuckovich
Superintendent of Schools
