Welcome Back Families,
It has been about six months since I have seen your children inside the walls of East Pike. In a week that will all be changing and I cannot wait. We have all been very busy preparing for your return. If you have not been able to watch the video that several of the teachers at East Pike helped put together, please take some time to watch it on the IASD youtube Channel or just cut and paste - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDJx0pnoB4k. This will give you an overview of arrival, dismissal, lunch, and a view of the classrooms. The one change is the mask requirements. Masks will be worn at all times with the exception being a mask break, recess, and lunch. In addition, Mrs. Lychalk has created a new student orientation video for our new families. That video will be located on East Pike’s counselor page.
The construction project is still ongoing but a lot of progress has been made in the last few weeks. After a conversation with the foreman and Mr. Trout, the main entrance will be open for the start of school. This is fantastic news and therefore we will not be making any changes to the arrival and dismissal procedures. Should this change, I will be in communication with all of you to inform you of Plan B.
Students are welcome to bring a water bottle, backpack, and lunchbox when they return on the 8th. Whatever the student brings to school will fit around his/her desk throughout the day. If you have any questions about spacing or ideas for materials, please call or email your child’s teacher for more specifics.
Students who are signed up for 100% synchronous learning and IDEAL will pick up their Chromebooks on September 2nd between the hours of 8 - 3. Please pull into the car-kid loop and remain in your car. A staff member will greet you and bring the device.
