Dear Friends, Families, Business, and Community Members,
The IHS Hockey Team is having a fantastic season and they are playing for the state championship this weekend! I am asking if you would consider helping us support our student-athletes by wearing red or black this Friday, April 23, 2021. If possible, post your photos to social media with the hashtag #IASDFaceOffFriday or mention us in your tag!
Additionally, please join the Red Line Club in sending the team off! Line the sidewalks of Philadelphia Street between 4th Street and 7th Street on Saturday (April 24, 2020) morning. The team will be departing S&T Bank Arena at 9:00 a.m. and will be making their way through town. Let’s support them with a show of school colors, signs, and lots of enthusiasm since we can’t be there to cheer them on in person. Make it a #GreatDayForHockey #IndianaProud #IASDFaceOffFriday.
This request is not just about sports - it is about community. It has been a year like none other and we could all use some additional joy and cause for celebration. All of our students matter and there have been plenty of accomplishments and achievements made by so many of them. As a District, we need to continuously remind ourselves to support and recognize our students and staff. This is a step in the right direction! Hopefully, this gives us all a reason to smile. Join me in wishing the hockey team the best of luck by wearing red and black on Friday, April 23, 2021!
Thanks,
Mr. Michael J. Vuckovich
Superintendent of Schools
