August 2, 2022
Dear Families:
I hope your summer is going well and that you have had time to relax, rest, and recharge. We are excited to open our doors to our students and families, as the first day of school is right around the corner. With that being said, I need your help in completing a survey that identifies what t-shirt size your child(ren) wear(s). Thanks to a very generous donor, we will be providing a free shirt to every student and staff member as part of our school-wide positive behavior efforts. In order to have the shirts by the first week of September, we need you to complete a form by the close of business on August 19, 2022. Click here for the form. You will need to complete the form for each child that attends IASD. For example, if you have three children enrolled in IASD, then you will need to complete the form 3 separate times.
Schools are responsible for teaching not only academics but also social behavior skills that emphasize high expectations for all students. At IASD, we teach all students an academic curriculum to address grade level expectations. We also explicitly teach all students to be helpful, safe, and respectful learners in the classroom, hallways, playground, and all other settings. Our emphasis has been to teach, practice, and recognize these expectations every day to help create a predictable and positive learning environment.
The shirt will have “Indiana” on the front and “We are better together” on the back. Please complete the form by the aforementioned deadline in order to receive a shirt. As part of our school-wide positive behavior efforts, we are hoping that students will wear the shirt to school every Friday to build school and community spirit. We strive to provide an atmosphere in our buildings that encourages positive behaviors and interactions among all staff and students. I thank you for your consideration, and I am hopeful you can find time to complete the survey. The shirts will be passed out to students on or about September 6th, and we look forward to seeing Indiana spirit filling our schools every Friday beginning Friday, September 9th.
Thanks,
Mr. Michael J. Vuckovich
Superintendent of Schools
