In November, 38 IASD students participated in the regional Invention Convention competition at Elderton High School. While all the inventions and presentations were innovative and impressive, a team of four Horace Mann Elementary School students placed 1st in the grade 5-8 category.
Inventions are scored based on the invention process, the impact of the invention, and how well the details about the invention are communicated.
The 1st place team of Grant Rosendale, Avery Schneider, Jack Welsh, and Emmit Wright are now headed to the state level of the competition, which will be held tomorrow at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey PA, as part of the PA Educational Technology Expo and Conference (PETE&C). Winners from there will advance to the national competition in June.
Good luck!
