The World Language Department at Indiana Area Senior High School has received the Globe Award from the Pennsylvania State Modern Language Association (PSMLA). The award, presented through the PSMLA Exemplary Program Award, recognizes exceptional efforts among Pennsylvania high schools that promote world languages and cultivate an environment that fosters linguistic and cultural growth. The award acknowledges components of high school world language programming such as strong student enrollment and retention, robust world language course offerings and sequences, well-qualified faculty, implementation of key instructional practices, and opportunities for students to study abroad or engage in language practice outside of the classroom.
The award designation is a recognition of the commitment of the district’s world language teachers who provide students with a comprehensive, engaging, and enriching curriculum. The achievement reflects the district's outstanding educational standards, innovative teaching practices, and overall commitment to language learning and cultural awareness.
